Roman Holiday, released in 1953, is a romantic comedy directed by William Wyler and starring Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck. The film follows Princess Ann (Hepburn), a young royal overwhelmed by the demands of her official duties, who escapes into the streets of Rome and experiences a day of freedom and adventure alongside American journalist Joe Bradley (Peck). Celebrated for Audrey Hepburn's Academy Award-winning performance, its charming portrayal of Rome, and its timeless exploration of romance and independence, Roman Holiday remains one of the most beloved films of Hollywood's Golden Age.
This VetroScope artwork reinterprets the film's original One Sheet poster through a combination of traditional oil painting and precision-cut vinyl. The transparent overlay separates key graphic elements from the painted canvas beneath, creating a physical sense of depth that echoes the layered design language of the original poster while presenting it as a contemporary fine art object.
The vinyl overlay is produced using professional-grade Oracal® 651 sign vinyl, precision cut and reverse applied to optically clear shadowbox glass to achieve the distinctive layered presentation unique to the VetroScope process.
Each VetroScope original is a unique, one-of-one artwork. The reverse of the canvas is authenticated with the artist's custom studio stamp and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
